Business Community Guidelines
Our mission at Weird Street is to empower local businesses to build strong communities where neighbors support each other, share their resources, experience and advice.
We want everyone to feel welcome, safe, and respected when using Weird Street. For that reason, we've developed a set of Community Guidelines describing what behaviors are—and are not—allowed on Weird Street. The crux of our Guidelines can be boiled down to one simple statement:
Everyone here is your neighbor. treat each other with respect.
We rely on you, the businesses who make up the Weird Street community, to report content that violates these Guidelines. Violating the Guidelines has consequences, which may include removal of content, suspension of posting privileges, or even a permanent ban from Weird Street. Because of the diversity of people in any neighborhood, please keep in mind that while something may be disagreeable to you, it may not violate our Community Guidelines.
The Golden Rule
Treat every neighbor with respect. The heart of Weird Street is the connection and collaboration between business owners. When conversations become disagreeable, everyone on Weird Street suffers. Our Guidelines prohibit comments that discriminate against, attack, insult, shame, bully, or belittle others.
Don’t use Weird Street as a soapbox
Weird Street is a communication platform and businesses deal with political, legal, and community issues. However, do not let conversations about politics get political. Everyone has different personal views and opinions and controversial issues will inevitably rub people the wrong way. We rely on our members to report those who are over-posting, campaigning, and posting or ranting about controversial, non-local issues.
Avoid Self-Promotion and No Spamming
On Weird Street, we support local businesses and encourage everyone to share helpful information about the businesses and services in the community. This doesn't mean that Weird Street is a marketing channel for you to get more clients. Weird Street is about community building, helping each other, and working together.
Keep it clean and legal
Keep all content and activity family-friendly and legal, and adhere to our rules about regulated goods and services. Do not post sexually explicit or violent content. All members deserve to feel comfortable while connecting with the community.
